The 'Lurid Machine' is the result of a collaboration between Audio Surplus Effects and heavy noise rock duo Modern Technology – a faithful replication of the unique gain section from bassist/vocalist Chris Clarke’s beloved Peavey Century 200H solid state, extended range musical instrument amplifier, which features heavily on the new Modern Technology album 'Conditions of Worth'.
The Peavey Century series amplifiers have become cult classics in recent years thanks to their distinctive distorted tones and crushing volume. Designed for use with both bass and guitar, and in true Audio Surplus Effects fashion, the 'Lurid Machine' takes this unique circuit even further by adding more gain and saturation for some truly rough and ragged solid state distortion.
