  • RAG(E) Issue 1 - With Darkness Brings Vision

Introducing the first issue of RAG(E) – A bringing together of some of the finest musicians and creative minds out there, all in aid of charity. All proceeds from this paper will go to Mind and Shelter – Two charities helping those most in need at this unsettled time.

We took the title ‘With Darkness Brings Vision’ from cover artist Gill Dread of Bruxa Maria's stunning lino-cut print which grace’s the cover. A perfect summary of the current state of things and perfectly fitting with our aim for this paper – to bring together interesting creative voices at this turbulent time to try to do some good.

This first issue features talks with the incredible Gill Dread of Bruxa Maria, taking us through her music, passion projects and letting off some steam about the current social and political climate. We also interview RIFF.Underground, aka Chris Purdie, about his film work, how he got started and plans for the future. Alongside that we have chats with multi-instrumentalist, label boss and fine artist James Watts about his prolific output, as well as an interview with us Modern Technology lot conducted by Christopher Nosnibor of Aural Aggravation. Plus many more insights, twists and turns.

Each newspaper comes with a free download of our debut EP.

Includes unlimited streaming of Exploding Head Sessions via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

about

A live recording of London duo Modern Technology taking the stage at the Exploding Head Sessions at The Shacklewell Arms, London. The session includes tracks from their self-title debut EP plus two new tracks All is Forgiven and Bitter End. 10% of the proceeds from this release will go to Crisis to help fund and support their vital year-round work with homelessness.

"A very noisy, fuzzy and uncomfortable treat but a treat none the less. Don’t be ungrateful, Modern Technology sound amazing here. A wickedly good release by a wickedly good band for a wickedly good cause. 9/10" - GBHBL bit.ly/ExplodingHead-GBHBL

“It’s fitting that noisy-post-punk London duo Modern Technology should have recorded a live session at the Shacklewell Arms under the banner of Exploding Head: everything about the band to date has been explosive. One of my bands of 2019... Modern Technology are a band on the up because they’re a band for our times.” - Christopher Nosnibor, Aural Aggravation bit.ly/ExplodingHead–AuralAggro

"You are immersed into a grainy monochrome sonic universe of deep distorted bass drones, pounding drum beats that transport you into a post-industrial wasteland, and vocals that are infused with pain and anguish... it is obvious that Modern Technology work just as well on a stage as in the studio. 8/10" - Disagreement bit.ly/ExplodingHead-Disagreement

about

Modern Technology London, UK

Noisy duo 💪💪

"The heavy and intense brand of noise-rock that's spat out by London's Modern Technology is so dense and ferocious, it's hard to believe the band consists of only two members."
– The Quietus
